Abstract
In communicating, language is important to convey an idea or an opinion to others and is very important in life as a connector between people’s intentions. We can talk between humans, share stories, and understand each other through language. English is a connecting language between countries. Speaking is an essential component in learning English because we can clearly explain and convey a meaning to others by speaking. Using photos and videos makes students more excited, motivated, and not bored by learning speaking in class. The use of photo and video media also has its differences. The purpose of this study was analysis students’ speaking descriptive between the use of photos and a short video. And this study is helpful for many parties and valuable for the present and the future. This study uses a qualitative method to answer the research problem. This study used a questionnaire to collect the data to analyze students’ Speaking descriptive. Questionnaire to collect data about how and what the differences are in learning to speak descriptive using photo and short video media, what the media that students preferred, and the difficulties faced. The result of this study are any differences in learning to speak descriptively between using photos and short video, students find difficulties when learning to speak descriptive use short video, and the photo is a media that students prefer to learning speaking descriptively.
