Abstract

This research was conducted in order to convey the ability of writing English drama based on local story and how local wisdom can be preserved by using English drama based on local story by the 7th semester students of the English Education Department of IKIP PGRI Semarang. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The result is average students’ writing skills is 73%. It can be concluded that the ability of the 7th semester student of English Education Department IKIP PGRI Semarang in a writing English drama is good. Second, there are three elements of local wisdom found on students’ English drama, namely recognition of actions, behaviors, and the influence of geographical and natural resources.
