Abstract

Significant changes in learning Indonesian in Curriculum 2013 is a text-based learning and application of the scientific approach. These would make all parties, both teachers and students must follow the existing pattern. it is confirmed Indonesian text-based learning is based on the fact that in everydays life people would not be separated from the text. Text and development of thinking skills have e very significant relevance. Independence learners to be able to implement learning activities as designed in the scientific approach, namely the creativity and the ability to reconstruct the experience and knowledge, learners need to be guided by habituation exercises critical thinking. Thinking skills can not develop by itself, this skill must be trained through a stimulus that requires learners to think critically. Critical thinking skills can be improved through critical reading activities.
