Abstract

This research was conducted to study the effect of cell dry weight and fermentation time on the production of single cell protein Saccharomyces cerevisiae . Industrial wastewater non dairy creamer has potential as a medium for the growth of microorganisms . The study was conducted several phases: raw material preparation, seedling stage, and inoculation stage. This study uses a completely randomized design ( CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions . This treatment includes , treatment P1 ( non dairy creamer media concentration 25 % ) , P2 ( non dairy creamer media concentration 50 % ) , P3 ( non dairy creamer media concentration 75 % ) and P4 ( non dairy creamer media concentration 100 % ) , which inoculated with Saccharomyces cerevisiae a number of 106 cells / ml. Results of analysis of variance showed that the cell dry weight of F arithmetic < F table which was 0.23 < 3.49 then the H1 is rejected , so that it can be concluded that the concentration of non¬dairy creamer media does not give effect to the dry weight of the cells of Saccharomyces cerevisiae . Results of the analysis of protein content showed F arithmetic < F table 0.18 < 3.49, it can be concluded that the use of non dairy creamer media does not give effect to the protein content of the product Kata Kunci : Saccharomyces cerevisiae, protein product, non dairy creamer
