Abstract

Literacy ability is one of the main aspects of education to strengthen the learning skills and competencies of elementary school students. The learning media that are often used are lectures, questions and answers, learning demonstrations and discussions, while teaching in class IV it is still rare to use interactive learning media still manually using books, during the learning process the children are less enthusiastic because they feel bored. The problem in this study is the practicality and validity of class IV thematic learning applications in elementary schools. The purpose of this study was to determine the practicality and validity of fourth grade thematic learning applications in elementary schools. This research and development producer performs the implementation of the ADDIE procedure. The population in this study were fourth grade students at SD Negeri Baturejo 01 and SD Islam Sukolilo. Data collection techniques used were interviews and questionnaires. The results of the expert assessment test on material and learning media were 94.5%. Where the score is listed between the intervals of 81% -100% with the "very decent" category. While the results of the teacher response questionnaire were 92.3% and students were 99.5%. Where the score is listed between the intervals of 81% -100% with the "very decent" category. Based on the results of the validation of material and media experts as well as the results of teacher and student questionnaires, the thematic learning media for class IV in elementary schools are valid and practical to use in learning. Based on the results of this study, suggestions that can be conveyed are that schools should encourage and facilitate teachers to develop learning media that are durable and attractive to students.
