Abstract

This research is motivated by the condition of students who pay little attention to a series of school rules, the efforts of Civic Education teachers in strengthening student discipline being less than optimal, and students showing a lack of discipline in adhering to school regulations. The research method used is qualitative, and data is obtained through observation, question and answer sessions, and archiving. The results explain that teachers are fulfilling their roles in enhancing the discipline of students in the special sports class of a public high school, broadly speaking, have been carried out well. 1) The role of citizenship education teachers as role models is achieved through the preparation of the teacher’s personal maturity in citizenship education, 2) The role as motivators to deepen student discipline is carried out by teachers providing positive encouragement to the students, 3) Civic Education department teachers act as advisors to enhance student discipline, which involves approaching students through teachers so that the advice provided by teachers can be observed and accepted effectively. The consistency of discipline from teachers serves as an educational approach to strengthen student discipline. The role of discipline that has been implemented by teachers has been embraced by students to varying degrees. Challenges perceived by citizenship education teachers in providing examples, encouragement, and guidance are mainly faced with students, especially those in the special sports class, who often do not participate in classroom learning. The solution that the school can implement is to conduct a comprehensive evaluation to monitor the development of student discipline.
